Bentley Teases Fourth-Generation Continental GT: Ultra Performance Hybrid Redefines Grand Touring

Since its debut in 2003, the Continental GT has embodied the pinnacle of luxury grand touring. Now, Bentley is preparing to unveil the fourth generation of this iconic model, promising groundbreaking advances that will propel it into a new era of sustainable high performance.

In June, the world will bear witness to the latest evolution of the Continental GT. At its core lies Bentley's revolutionary new Ultra Performance Hybrid powertrain - a potent combination of a V8 engine and electric motor delivering a staggering 782 PS and 1,000 Nm of torque. This powerplant doesn't just deliver breathtaking acceleration, but also an exceptional electric-only range of 50 miles (80 km) and a class-leading WLTP CO2 emissions figure under 50 g/km.

A New Benchmark in Dynamics

But raw power has always been just one facet of the Continental GT's appeal. The new generation raises the bar with the latest chassis technology tailored for unparalleled dynamics. Active all-wheel drive with torque vectoring, four-wheel steering, an electronic limited slip differential, 48V electric active anti-roll control, and advanced dual-valve dampers work in concert to provide sublime handling and an uncompromising ride.

While retaining the Continental's signature muscular stance, the new model ushers in fresh design elements and cutting-edge technology features that elevate the grand touring experience. Bentley has craftily balanced modern innovations with the unmatched luxury and handcrafted details that are a hallmark of the brand.

The Continental GT's lineage traces back over 70 years to the legendary R Type Continental of 1952 - at the time, the fastest four-seat car in the world. That vehicle's audacious performance and sophisticated grand touring spirit served as inspiration, manifested in the Continental GT's iconic power line, haunch profile, and sloping roofline.

When the first modern Continental GT premiered in 2003, it catalyzed nothing short of a renaissance at Bentley. Sales skyrocketed tenfold within four years as the car redefined the brand for a new generation of luxury buyers. Subsequent generations introduced a V8 option, new platforms, and continued refinements that cement the Continental GT as a benchmark in the luxury GT segment.

Continued Record-Breaking Excellence

Along the way, the Continental GT has etched its name in the record books with blistering speed achievements, motorsport championships, and grueling endurance race wins across the globe. It has become Bentley's second most popular model, with the 100,000th handcrafted example due to roll off the production line in Crewe early next year.

As Bentley prepares to reveal full details on the new fourth-generation Continental GT next month, one thing is clear - this new iteration is poised to push the boundaries of what a luxury grand tourer can be. With its uncompromising performance and efficiency coupled with innovative chassis technology and an unwavering commitment to handcrafted luxury, the new Continental GT is ready to elevate the brand to new heights. The future of grand touring has arrived.

Stay tuned in June as Bentley lifts the veil on this momentous new chapter for the iconic Continental GT. The benchmark in high performance luxury is about to be redefined once again.
