A Modern Masterpiece with a Legendary Past
The exhilarating character of the original No. 9 Blower made it instantly popular in the 1920s and 30s, and an enduring legend of motor racing. Today, the Number 9 Edition combines the sleek lines, thrilling power and cutting edge technology of the new Continental GT with a series of interior and exterior design tributes to the No. 9.
Tim Birkin’s iconic 1930 No. 9 Le Mans race car – which still races today - had its original seat replaced during restoration works. A wooden fragment of this priceless piece of Bentley’s story has been carefully set in resin and placed in each of the 100 cars in the Continental GT Number 9 Edition, proudly displayed in the Bentley Rotating Display.
Exquisite Details
With the debossed B from the door pads of the original No. 9 lovingly recreated on the headrests and door pads, and the hides given a high-gloss finish to more closely represent the style of the 1930s, the influence of the No. 9 Blower is clearly visible throughout the cabin of the Continental GT Number 9 Edition.
The turned aluminium Engine Spin finish on the centre console and exclusive British Jaeger clock face also evoke the power and racing pedigree of the original car.
A Striking Exterior
Making its debut with the Number 9 Edition, Mulliner’s newly created Viridian paint colour represents a modern take on the traditional racing green of the No. 9 Blower. Alternatively, you can opt for Beluga – a deep, luxurious black.
You can choose to either match the car’s 22” painted wheels to the exterior, or you can use the other paint colour as a striking contrast. Showcasing the extraordinary Mulliner craft, an 18-carat gold-plated No. 9 exterior badge provides the perfect finishing touch.
