New Bentley S and Azure Bentayga Models
October 20 2022,
The Bentley Bentayga is available in two new models for 2023, with the addition of the S Hybrid and the Azure to the lineup.
The Hybrid powertrain
The Bentley Bentayga S Hybrid and the Bentayga Azure use a revised version of the plug-in hybrid powertrain, which receives a larger 18 kWh battery in order to allow a longer all-electric range of 43 kilometres. Combined with the twin-turbocharged 3.0L V6 engine, the total output in both of these models is set at 456 horsepower. This means that hybrid versions of the Bentayga offer a choice of near-silent electric driving and effortless performance, as exemplified by the 5.3 seconds it takes the S Hybrid model to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h.
The Bentayga S Hybrid
Introduced last year as a sportier version of the Bentley SUV, the Bentayga S is now joined by a hybrid-powered variant. The Bentley Bentayga S Hybrid benefits from all of the styling elements of the regular S model and it adds the instantaneous torque delivery of the electric motor to its already impressive performance. This means that the Bentayga S Hybrid is distinguished by its blackline specification which replaces the exterior chrome with gloss black accents, as well as by its red brake callipers and its Speed-style spoiler. The interior is also revised, with a number of S emblems placed throughout. This sporty appearance is not just a cover since the Bentayga S Hybrid features an active exhaust system and a sport mode that makes the adaptive suspension 15% stiffer to improve handling.
The Bentayga Azure
Offered only with the hybrid powertrain, the Bentayga Azure is at the opposite end of the spectrum from the S model. This is because the Azure is aimed at owners who prefer to have the ultimate in comfort and relaxation out on the road. This is achieved by making the Bentayga Azure even quieter than other models in the range, by installing new 22-way adjustable front seats, by offering a number of carefully selected upholstery and trim options, and by improving the ride quality of the adaptive suspension.
